The Taekwondo courses we offer are catered to the needs and priorities of the individual. They are:-
A) AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE:
This is a basic course, usually offered as a short vacation course. Taekwondo basics and fundamental techniques are imparted. On the completion of the course, one can earn a Certificate of Involvement in Taekwondo.
B) THE INTERMEDIATE COURSE:
A follow-up of the Introductory Course, this course takes you through the basics from yellow belt to red belt/black stripe. Stretching, toning, calisthenics and cardio-vascular development are integral parts of the training program. It is designed to be the best all-round fitness regimen. A comprehensive mastery of self-defence and fighting skills is covered. The requisite World Taekwondo forms (poomse) from Taegeuk 1 to Taegeuk 8 are taught too. A practitioner under this course is also qualified and encouraged to compete in various State and National level Championships.
C) THE BLACK BELT COURSE:
This is a long-term course ideal for those who are ready to commit themselves to pursue higher goals and achieve excellence. It places great emphasis on the rigours of hard physical training for several years. This is for the serious athletes. The course guides the practitioner to a new threshold of mastery of martial skills and knowledge. It helps makes the transition from being just a fighter and athlete to being an artist. It also signifies the awakening of the artist to an understanding and experience of the mental and spiritual sides of Taekwondo philosophy and ideologies.
The course qualifies a person to compete in International Championships. It also prepares the practitioner to take up the Advanced Instructor’s and Master’s Courses.
Internationally recognized Black Belt Certificates are issued directly from KUKKIWON, the World Taekwondo (WTF) Headquarters, Korea.
D) ADVANCED / INSTRUCTOR’S COURSE:
It is designed to provide growth opportunities for advancement to the International Instructor and Masters Black Belt Degrees through the World Taekwondo. It also imparts a referee training course for competitions at the National level according to WTF International Rules and Regulations. The Instructor’s Course also helps you learn and develop teaching skills and offers guidelines to successfully managing your own Taekwondo schools and associations.
E) SELF-DEFENCE AND FITNESS CLASSES:
This course has been designed especially for women. Here practical self-defence techniques and street awareness is shared. Fitness classes comprise of aerobic workouts and co-ordination exercises that also include punching and kicking drills and stretching and toning. This is also a fun-filled stress-buster activity and a great way to unwind. The program is non-competitive. It is a modified and tapered down version from the physical rigours and demands of Taekwondo that is usually incorporated and practised by the serious competitive athlete / experienced martial artist.
There is no fixed time limit on these courses. You can train at your own individual pace.
